Some feature suggestions, ideas like discussd on the google groups now posted here for future reference: * Add a second menu on top of the "main menu bar " user profile, logout, etc * Set Country to a default ( now you have to select the country first and then select state, city ) perhaps based on domain .de ( german ) .jp ( japanse ) etc * Block certain email adresess for use in the website like i...@yoursite.com on invitations this list to be set in the admin section * Tagging only for moderaters and contributers ( to avoid tag pollution) * Ways to mass action like removing posts from a user, etc * Forum categories.. Would it be possible to have forum categorie "placeholder" where subforums are located under * advanced search: search on firstname lastname / username / age / state / region / country * moderation for user generated content: moderate blog posts before being publiced admin has to approve * menu bar: edit and remove menu items in admin with ajax up and down. menu starts of blank with "home" only * bad word filter * block emails for user registration * activity stream on users page which they can enter them self a " Who, What, Where" option i mean with this * activity feeds for friends so you see in 1 page listing all the updates of your friends ( photos , events, all they can do ) * make it possible to search in all city's from a state ( now it auto selects an city when selecting a state ) * display message nothing found on empty search results (currently empty page ) * Moderations of clippings! I have a fresh Ubuntu installation with Ruby 1.9.1 and Rails 2.3.2 installed, no previous vesions. I want to install CE from edge, with "rails my_app_name -m http://www.communityengine.org/edge_install_template.rb" but it fails due to the following reasons: __attachment_fu__ plugin requires _ftools_ which are obsolete in 1.9.1 __ez_where__ plugin is not 1.9.1 compatible neither (wrong _case_ format, which has changed in 1.9 as well) and then I have a "undefined method _each_" for mime-types.rb

Unprocessable Entity The server understands the media type of the request entity, but was unable to process the contained instructions. Trying to upload photos to our web sites but,(unable to up load photos of products)getting this error message each time.....this problem just started in the last 2 months, never had a problem before this.

When you view the list of users, CE's no longer displaying the date they joined just the time: http://ce-with-location.heroku.com/users Users profile pages also show the date in yy/mm/dd format, which is a change from how it use to display. Thoughts?

The error was: [ERROR] comments#index (TypeError) "can't convert Symbol into String" The latest version has replaced the eroneous code with a simple string interpolation in English, no I18n which isn't ideal. This works for me: @commentable.description || :photo_from_user.l(:photo_description => @commentable.display_name, :user => @user.login)

I'm unable to get a site based on the latest version of Community Engine to boot in production due to this error. The nil object is AppConfig.default_mce_options. If I'm logged in as a user and disable my account in the "Edit Account" settings, then the home gets broken. By deactivating the account, the activity stream on the homepage generates an error, because the user will no longer be found. A user was created and that user created a post. When the user was deleted the post(s) created by the user remained, and the post teaser was visible under recent posts. After installing community engine via the automatic install-Template, the community engine plugin cannot be found: rake test (in E:/RubyProjects/community) rake aborted! Could not locate the following plugins: community_engine and white_list This error comes up also if you start the WebRick server. I have this problem on Windows XP and also on Kubuntu Linux (Hardy Haron)

The issue is not with all PNGs, but one in particular. I have not isolated what makes this particular PNG cause a problem. You can reproduce the problem by trying to create a web clipping from the first image (the banner image) on http://www.voiceforanimals.org. From what I understand, the "Active Users" list shows the users with the most activities (which I assume includes creating profile, logging in, posting, etc.). I am testing a new site (so there are only a few users). One user created a profile then immediately deactivated it. This user still shows up in the list of "Active Users." However, because the account is deactivated, clicking on the link for that user redirects me to my profile. The same is true if I click on the link for that user in the activity feed (it still shows when that user created their profile). It strikes me that perhaps users whose accounts are not active should be excluded from the the list of "Active Users." An alternative would be to keep them in the list but not show them as a clickable link. Perhaps the title could be set to "Deactivated User" so mousing over their avatar explains why you can't click on them. For certain that users name should not be a clickable link in the activity feed once the account is deactivated and no longer viewable.

The current TinyMCE version provide with TinyMCE doesn't support tabbing in/out of a TinyMCE editor instance (tab will set focus to each element within the editor (toolbar, path ...)). The newest version supports this and works without problems. A copy&paste over the current javascript code for TinyMCE works, as far as I can tell, without problems. But there is also the RoR wrapper for TinyMCE, and it might/should get an update as well?
